  • so whatever happened with this V10 "project"?

  • oh btw, i just looked at an old issue of 5.0 magazine and the cover car is the BOSS 351ci V10 wich happens to be this mustang! here are the specs on this car- 5.8L 351ci DOHC V10, 430hp, 405tq, 0-60 in 4.4, 0-100 in 10.3. 1/4 mile 12.88 @ 114.44mph. it has a T-56 6 speed and weighs 3,565lbs as tested. hope that helps everyone out and to stop all the bullcrap argueing about the motor! -Grant

  • @Firecat400EX I'd say that high gas prices and tougher fuel economy standards killed it

  • @pirochip thats cuz its a v10, just like the lambo lol. the key to the lambo sound is the muffler, not the engine.

  • @331Grabber lol make it replace the gt500 and put a blower on it XD it would be the literal road boss lol

  • Since they now have a BOSS 302. Wouldn't it be nice for them to make us a BOSS 351 in the new body style with this motor and the new TVic set up? It would make about 505 HP N/A at the same power per cubic inch.

  • @modeyus1984 It's a 4 valve. It has extended Cobra heads. Uses common Cobra rods/pistons.

  • sounds like a lambo v10 :/

  • @mustang6172 Found the article! motortrend (dot) com/roadtests/coupes/112_0308_ford_mustang_boss_350_v_10/index.html

  • I read an article in Motortrend a few years back where they tested a Mustang fitted with a 5.8L V10 called the Boss 351 (it was a 4.6L V8 with two extra cylinders). Ford was considering using the engine in the GT but went with an all aluminum 5.4 V8 instead. They never finished debugging the PCM so it was prone to stalling. Since they mentioned this engine came from a concept (not a prototype or mule) it's possible this was the 427 (7L) V10 from the 2003 concept of the same name.

  • Wow a v10 in a mustang that's bad ass. But I wonder if it's the 2 valve or the 3 valve. I currently own a f 250 super duty v10. The sound this engine makes is so damn unique. I've driven v8 Chevys with flowmasters. But I'd have to say that v10 sounds far superior. It's almost like a Lamborghini sound, it's really hard to explain. The mpg does suck but it's still real reliable for heavy towing and it can get up and go. It's all around perfect for a gas engine and I highly recommend!

  • @jordtizzle yeah true but then the viper doesnt compeate with the gt40 lol
