NS 173 Vs. Tractor Trailer

NS 173 at Salisbury with 3 NS C40-9W's hitting a tractor trailer truck at the RR crossing at the WYE, Henderson ST. For everybody who wants to know reason you don't here the horn is because the crew blow the horn one time (for stop) and put the train in emergency, the horn part got cut out of video because I was moving away from the tracks. Also the dude in the Orange vest works at the place just out of the screen to the right, he is not the truck driver he stayed in his truck the whole time.

The reason you don't try to beat a train!!! They have only one way to go and can't stop on a dime.........stupidity is the main reason for many deaths, especially train related ones!!!

Considering the massive degree of straight-up idiocy in YouTube comments (such as the other person making a rambling poorly-spelled claim that a dump truck is heavier than a freight train) it was hard to tell that you were kidding. @trains1235 You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. The largest dump truck in the entire world, one used in open-pit mines, weighs perhaps 500 tons fully loaded. Just the three locomotives of this particular train weigh more than that.

@bullcrapfinder You can't just stop something weighing 10,000 tons traveling at 50mph whenever you feel like it. Go back to high school and learn some basic physics. That loud hissing noise in the video? That was the air brakes being put into Emergency, right before the engineer and conductor hit the cab floor. Actually, I'm surprised that this particular freight slowed as quickly as it did. But in this case, I'm sorry to say that you are clearly the dumbass.
