Amelia Dyer remains one of the cruelest murderers of her time. Raised as the daughter of a master shoemaker, Amelia was well cared for as a girl; unlike her 247 victims.

She made her money by taking on the care of infants born to unwed mothers; baby-farming if you will. Many such 'baby-farmers' resorted to starving babies to the point they died; thus relinquishing them of their motherly duties.

Amelia thought this to be a waste of time. She decided to begin strangling the babies once they were placed in her care. She used a piece of hemming used for dress making. She tied the edging around the infant's neck and tied it into a knot. She waited until the child died. She then placed her victim in a carpet bag, put heavy bricks inside and took off on a foot path which led her to the river Thames.

Once there, she tipped the bag over the edge and waited as it sank to the bottom.

On June 10, 1898, Amelia Dyer was executed by hanging due to the fact a bargeman found the remains of a victim named Helena Fry.

  • Im pretty amazed that this bitch isn't more well known...

  • @emmers57 I know, right. She was a monster.

  • So, what are you going to dress up as for Halloween this year? May I make a suggestion? Why not this character from Victorian England. Given she was a seamstress from Victorian England that enjoyed cashing in on dead babies. How is that for creepy. Freddy and Jason have nothing on ole Ms. Dyer. Come to think of it, her last name is quite fitting if you look at it as a noun. Dier!

  • Ok, I posted the link for the sample of the spooky melody. It's in the comments. Search for Listen To Sample. Please post your responses on how you liked it.

  • I'm watching one more of your videos, Judson. You know, I accidentally called you Chris, sorry about that. :) This is a fascinating case. I never knew of this woman until now. How horrible. Your music to this would make a great addition to a movie if they made one about it. Excellent composition. I can't even fathom a mind that would do something like this, especially to children. Janet

  • @onewomanandsomesongs That's quite alright. I have done the same thing before. I posted a link with additions to this song in the comments. I put there for a little while as a sneak peek for anyone interested.
