Silent Hunter 4 Legion's Noob Guide

From Subsim.com in April 2007, legion78 uploaded one of the first guides to Silent Hunter 4--Wolves of the Pacific aimed at new players trying to learn the game. Not only is this an important part of Subsim history, but it kept players in the game who would have quit in frustration, so was the model for my series of tutorials, all directed toward new players. It remains tremendously useful.

you running any mods? i dont have the whole around my boat when i look at it in the attack map or is that an option im just overlooking?

@zero13827 This video was done in 2007 with version 1.1. He is using no mods at all. He shows the attack map for just a few seconds in this tutorial and it shows nothing at all but a symbol for the sub, symbol for the target, a velocity vector for the target and that's about it. Please explain what you mean by the "whole" around the boat.

I would understand if it would have been a task force or a convoy lols... for single straying traders I just do my own thing, that I taught myself by watching about 4-5 other techniques. I cannot explain it beacuse its not the most accurate and it's actually kinda stupid :D what I do is start measuring my distance to him, enemies course, my distance to that course, his speed, then make radials to estimate speed/time... it worked! :P
