This match for the NWA World Heavyweight title from 1987 is NOT the one on the Ultimate Ric Flair Collection!
Barry Windham is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Blackjack Mulligan.

  • Fuck Vince McMahon and his fucking "sports enterainment piece of shit. This is what the real old school professional is all about. Is all about geting down the bussiness.

  • thinking about it in hindsight, I think I would've preferred Windham as World Champion instead of Ronnie Garvin.

  • @theenforcer1977 I don't think it was Flair being greedy. The drawing power was in the babyface chasing the champion. Flair made everyone he worked with a star, he fought Hawk at a Clash once and you actually believed that Hawk could possibly win the title that night, but Flair somehow pulled it out in the end to keep the title. This made you want to watch the next Flair match and see either the babyface get the title or Flair get his ass kicked.

  • Tommy Young was such a great referee...what ever happened to him? He always made a match just a little bit better with his officiating.

  • Crockett owned UWF at this time. Windham should have won the titile here and at Starrcade 87 it should have been unify the titles night. Nikita beat Terry Taylor for the TV Title,Windham could have beat Steve Williams for the World titles and Tully and Arn could have beat the UWF tag champs at the time. Then Flair could have won the title back at the first Clash. Windham was awesome. Flair just greedy.

  • Get well Barry, we don't want to lose another great wrestler.

  • great match up

  • So many wrestling fans praise the '89 Flair vs. Steamboat series, but IMHO the series of between Flair & BArry Windham are just as good.

  • @SheriffTankStoner ...Rhodes didnt want to put the belt on Windham, because he still held it against Barry that he left Florida and went to the WWF in '84. Putting the belt on Garvin was stupid, but the company was being run by Flair and Dusty by that point. Garvin didnt threaten either of their positions. Babyfaces were thin around this period because Dusty was hoggin' the spotlight and the WWF was grabbing up all the marketable babyfaces

  • Tommy Young was just as Entertaining

  • This is off the Jim Crockett Cup VHS.
