I met her in person once before I had heard her sing. She was very ordinairy, almost bland surrounded by very ordinairy people. To me she seemed like just another one of the countless singing students at one of Berlin's music universities, not like an accomplished artist. Then I heard her sing and felt confirmed in my perception. Even a crazy marketing machine can't turn mediocracy into the second coming of Maria Callas. Once they're on stage they're on their own.

This, awful ?? I will post a video of me (or any of you by the way) singing this aria, an then we will talk about something really awful. Please be restrained in your comments. she is maybe not Callas or Bartoli, ok. But please let us have more than 2 singers to hear !

Look people, she's a fabulous singer, the second coming of Cristina Deutekom. Her voice is not the most conventionally beautiful but always interesting and secure, even throughout the whole range, and instantly recognizable. She has her unique way of attacks. True, her coloratura is instrumental with lots of aspirations but always musical. And this is Haydn, god damn it!
