Dieses Stück ist ursprünglich von Johann Sebastian Bach für die Orgel komponiert. Ich habe es für E-Bass bearbeitet. Meine Frau Ulla liebt dieses Stück. Ich spiele es für sie.

Hi Berthold,

I was wondering, what is the little bar under your strings for? :)

I've got one to on my bass, but it's above the strings, so that I can rest my thumb on it :)

Hi Bassollie,

yes, it's a little curious to those players who don't know, that in the beginning the bassplayer should use his thumb to strike the strings. Not in the slap-style but in a way a classical guitarist use his thumb. Check it out. You place your FINGERS under the "finger rest" (not thumb rest ;-)...) and "voilà!" - strike - the strings down in the neck position. The sound ist soft and warm, great for Standards and ballads. The early Fenders all got finger rests until ca 1972.
