Among the threats to our Constitution from Sotomayor:
Support for racial quotas--as in the Ricci firemen case, supported statehood and independence for Puerto Rico, supports giving the vote to convicted murderers while in prison, she is against the death penalty, she will use her position of trust to rewrite the constitution and is seen as a judicial activist. She relies on her "empathies" instead of the words of the Constitution. Sotomayor also believes the Second Amendment doesn't apply to states--doesn't believe it is an individual right, and she would be a threat to private property rights. She is pro-abortion and pro-euthanasia. Mr. Miranda says she may be somewhat conservative on criminal issues, but would rewrite the Constitution on other issues. Obama wrote in his book he believes in a "living constitution." She also believes in following foreign law for guidance over the plain language of the Constitution--a back-door attempt to trash the Constitution. Her membership in La Raza is further cause for alarm.
