Have always loved McFerrin, even before Voicestra. For those who get and love Jazz, no explanation of Bobby's excellence is necessary. Explaining Jazz to anyone else is like trying to explain the ethos of poetry. Best not to try; best to leave discovery to the individual. Bobby is one of the greats.

@layoutzz I sense a condescending tone on your behalf. I was merely inquiring about what it is he does that makes him so outstanding. Is it that he hits the notes so perfectly with his voice? Even then, I don't see why some other talented musician wouldn't be able to do that..

@smokenfly514 Also look up the concept of "embrochure."

@smokenfly514 If you are talking about Bobby McFerrin, he is becoming one with the song on a spiritual level, as he vocalizes the muted trumpet for this piece. That is what his swaying and posturing is all about:)

I guess I'm not a cultured enough music connoisseur. What is he doing??!?!?!!?
smooth keeps you on the edge of each note, expecting only to be met by the most brilliantly arranged un expected savvy of controlling art.
