Yes- This song sequence is from the old Gemini's Tamil film"Chandralekha". sad to say, most of the actors and actresses of this film are no more. T.R>Rajakumari,M.K.Radha. Ranjan,N.S.Krishnan.T.A.Madhuram, Sundari bai,and director S.S. Vassan-all are not in this world now. How time flies!.

We all come and go. Only what we leave in the World are the memories. They left their memories here.

Did you note the Spanish touch in the tune ?
They don't make music like this anymore.
Good old days !

I think there is more then one song here. The opening part of the song sounds like La Paloma . Elvis Presley did a version with lyrics called No More.Later on the clip it sounds like the Donkey Serenade originally recorded by Alan Jones. I hope that helps you.

I am an ardent fan of Spanish and Latin American music. I don't know how I missed this La Paloma link. La Paloma was a popular base tune for Tamil music directors and they are great at recognising this great tune. The "Roja Malar Venduma" song in "Raji yen Kanmani"Gemini film was also based on La Paloma. From the old world music knowledge you have you must be a quite old like me (69)
I pray God that you live healthy for another 100 years. God Bless You !

Thank you so much. I am in that range too (57). I am fan music from all over the World. Roja Malar venduma starts with Mallikai Poo, Jathi Roja. Even Aiya Saami Aavo jee saami is also from an english tune. I could ask one of the Radio Station AM740 who used to play these songs.
