I think that it was pretty damn accomodating of the 'Skydog' to throw a piece of his spirit down here so that Derek Trucks could grow up to play that music that surely he was hearing while still in the womb. And, as for Warren Haynes, there are not enough words to describe the talent and benevolence of a man who can play, sing, and keep three top notch outfits up and running at such a high level for all of us to enjoy. I hope he lives to be a million...

He's not quite Duane, but god damn Derek can play some slide. I would definitely say he's the most talented guitarist of his generation without a doubt.

I love Derek Trucks initial reaction. His facial expressions just give off the vibe that Warren's slide playing is a joke. Which is saying something considering Warren is one of the best musicians alive.

Hah !! I figured it was Warrens. See - shows you how much I know ! I think it was last summer we saw Warren at Hot August Blues in Maryland. They have to stop playing at a certain time - so he couldnt play all night.. The man loves to play,. I'll even say it's like breathing to him. And of course being in the D.C. area he had his homeboy Ron Holloway on the sax. Those two keep me smiling as they play,play,play!!! I wonder what Rons knickname is? He sure has earned one!!!

Derek looks about 12 !! Indeed obbor4 - I've never heard him called Skydog, but he's about the best I've ever heard !!

And the first time I heard his voice......I stopped what I was doing and asked my husband "WHO is that??". I've been hooked ever since and ready to go see him again !! He's amazing, and I love how he shares his 'gift' for the younguns' to learn.
