This photo from the Hubble Space Telescope, presented at the 2006 General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union in Prague, shows a star forming region in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). This sharp image reveals a large number of low-mass infant stars coexisting with young massive stars.

  • I also had only heard of Fasch but wasn't familiar with any of his work. After hearing the trumpet concerto on a Ludwig Guttler CD I received, I searched for more and found this and also Wynton Marsalis playing his trumpet concerto - both are now on my 'most wanted' thanks :)

I am no classical buff but beginning to learn and this sounds very much like Vivaldi to my inexperienced ear.

  • I've never heard of Fasch until today! This is great! Thank you for this obscure jewel :)

  • I love this concerto by Fasch, and admire the man's music generally. It's a pity you did not post the following two movements. Thanks for this segment though.

  • This is wonderful!

    Thank you.

  • Beautiful photo and music!
