Hairwing Variant, the PFS take on the fly commonly known as the H & L Variant. HOOK: Mustad 94840 #12-18. THREAD: Black 6/0 Uni. TAIL: white calf tail. WING: same. BODY: stripped peacock quill reinforced with Duco cement. RIB: light olive or antique gold Pearsall's Gossamer or Naples silk. HACKLE: low quality furnace saddle --go through strung saddles to find those suitable for the fly. Contemporary Whiting or other genetic hackles have too much barb density.
