I was here in 09, it made me realize just how poor the Presleys were, no wonder Elvis was so very generous, he knew what it was like to be poor. It was explained that it was not the original Presley furniture as they had taken the furniture to Memphis, also the house had been moved, well worth a visit for any fan of Elvis.
@upurarse1 actually it is the original, which elvis purchased again when he returned to tupelo for a concert in 57, and he gave his profits to build elvis presley park and save his old home.
i live in australia im 35 since i was 13 ive been a huge elvis fan there has only been 2 places ive wanted to vist that is tupelo and memphis im hoping to one day get there so untill i do thanks for these clips love the acsent rip elvis
Can't believe all you folks from NEMS are doggin on the man. A hometown boy not only makes it big but makes it huge and yall put him down. What a bunch of fools.
I live in Tupelo, and honestly his family was poor and that has to be a replica house, it was probably destroyed before Elvis became famous. This is just the only thing that puts this crappy town on the map

I was there in 1978.
I parked in front of the house at 3:00AM and sat on the swing.
On my way back from Memphis to Birmingham, I took the short tour of the inside of this Tupelo shrine.
