Jordan Staal--2006 Draft

The Pittsburgh Penguins with the second overall pick in the 2006 entry draft select Jordan Staal. Four years after the fact, I'd still take him over Toews and Backstrom.
From this clip, I'm led to believe that he has brothers that also play hockey.

is it just me or can the penguins not draft late?

People think they're geniuses for drafting malkin (2) staal (2) fleury (1) crosby (1) lemieux (1) and jagr (6). not saying that you can't screw up in the early 1st round but where is anything after the first round, can only count letang (62) malone (115) and recchi (67) noteworthy in the last DECADE.

or FREAKING DETROIT datsyuk (171) lidstrom (53) holmstrom (257) zetterberg (210) and MANY MANY MORE

@BloomersWebseries Yeah they could have, but staal is a superb 3rd liner and penalty killer. Imo the best defensive center out there.

@blueandgold1000 yes but i think the factor was that eric and marc had already been drafted so at the draft it was kinda more secure to take another staal since eric and marc were making a name out of them already.

but nonetheless toews is my favorite player at my favorite team so this was the order it should have been;)
