i went platinum blonde this time last year from "virgin" dark brown hair. initially they tried to talk me out of it, but ended up loving it and being upset when i had it dyed dark again. amusing. it definitely completely killed my hair though- i'm still trying to grow out & cut off the damage.

My hair is exactly like yours, and i've been feeling the same way about my hair. It is very long and the length is weighing it down, and I don't know what to do with it in the morning so I just put it in a bun, or braid. ha ha. Thank you so much for this info Iris. Now I won't be so clueless and scared when I go get my haircut. = )
