Just a simple video for her. At 13 years old Matine died due to a paddock accident which broke her leg. This dressage sensation won the Grand Prix for Denmark, along with silver in the Freestyle (kur). In my opinion she was the best dressage horse out there and I really loved her. She is my favorite dressage horse. I dedicate this video to Andreas Helgstrand(if he ever watches it) because those two really seemed to have a wonderful bond and he rode Matine throughout her career.

  • Did she ever have a foal?

  • @0xAshleyMx0 No but there was rumors that she was either pregnant or was going to be breed before she died.

  • She was (is) the best in my eyes.

    R.I.P <3

  • Bless her baby heart. She is missed by people who never even had the pleasure of meeting her. May the Lord allow her to run and dance in the greenest pasture ever known! Res wellt girl, you showed them all and you will be remembered forever.

  • I love this video as much as I love and loved this amazing horse. thank you.

Blue Hors Matine was retired from competition in 2009 but had not competed since the 2007 World Cup final, where she was injured in a paddock accident before the event.

Her stud said the she had to be put to sleep after breaking her offside foreleg at the knee.

  • @TheBrendadale You're so right! Matiné wasn't a horse you could force into doing anything! She had her own "opinions" and was both very sensitive and eksplosive... But once you really got to know her, and work WITH her - she'd do anything if you asked nicely. She LOVED working and she LOVED attention! I have no doubt that Matiné was dancing each time she stepped out in front of the audience :o)

  • A "Paddock Accident?" Please tell me how a horse this talented and valuable can die of a "paddock accidet."

  • My favorite of all dressage horses and Andreas Helgstrand is my favorite rider I adore him. I was shocked to find out she is gone. So young...my horse died at 32 she would of had all those dancing years ahead of her. Wonderful video I adore this. RIP dancing angel

  • @TheBrendadale What I wanted to say was that horses have all these natural moves, naturally. It takes the trusting bond between horse and rider for the horse to do them, when asked, under saddle! And, yes, some moves are a little unnatural to a horse, but as horse and rider move through the stages, the horse gives more, learns more, trusts more. The rider also gives more, learns more, trusts more. Horse and human, as equals, you can't beat that!
