Hi , welcome to a video tutorial by Waalbrug.com.
My name is Jasper also known as TherSiteZ and in this tutorial on reason 6 I'll show you how to fatten you're bass drum. In genres like minimal techno, hardstyle, Drum and bass, and many many others, the bass drum is a main factor. It needs to be fat and have a good and solid low end. I'm going to show you how to add this to any bass drum.
The best bass drums are made to perfection and that can take a lot of time. I'll make this a quick and easy tutorial and I hope you can follow along. If you hear a great bass drum on a track and you want to recreate that. DON'T! Buy the record and sample it!
Now let's get this bassdrum on the road. First go to the rack view. Right click and create a mixer channel and call it BASSDRUM. Then right click beneath the mixer channel and create an audio merger and splitter. This will melt the sounds together. A melting, fat bassdrum. Uhhmm. You'll see.
Right click beneath the merger and create a redrum drumcomputer. Let's put in a bassdrum. Select one from the basic reason sample pack like so. Then create a 4 by 4 beat by clicking on the 1, 5 , 9 and 13. Let's copy the pattern to the track and enable pattern section, like so.
In the rack view beneath the redrum right and create a thor polyphonic synth. Make sure it's initialized, if not do so by right clicking and select initialize. Open in up. Select a sine wave on analog oscillator. Open up the Go into the sequencer window. Hold the ctrl key and copy the redrum track over to the thor.
I hope you're going to make some wicked songs with this technique. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel and check out all my reason tutorials. Thanx for watching!
