Dance with death (c-400)

The S-400 Triumf (Russian: C-400 «Триумф») is a new generation air defense system developed by Russia's Almaz Central Design Bureau as an upgrade of the S-300 family.
The S-400's NATO reporting name is SA-21 Growler, and the system was previously known as S-300PMU-3. It overshadows the capabilities of the other systems from the S-300 series, and its range is claimed to be at least two times the MIM-104 Patriot system's.[2][3]
According to Russian sources, the S-400 is capable of detecting and simultaneously engaging six targets[4] out to a range of 400 km (250 miles), including aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles up to the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty limits of a range of 3,500 km and a speed of 4.8 km/s[1].Furthermore, it is claimed to have heightened capabilities to counter stealth aircraft.[5][6][7] The S-400 is expected to be superseded by the future S-500 missile, with development expected to be completed by 2012.

Stealth wont save you from this, nothing actually but except luck that it fails to start the missile might save any plane in the skies. It will eat F-22 Raptors for breakfast and Tomahawks for luch and nuclear ICBM:s for dinner.

@Talshet Hmm.. I've never read any article that said the AIM120 only had a 30-40km range... Where did you get this from? As for that type of psychological warfare, there are many people, (many of them I-m sure are Russian agents) that totally exaggerate America's capability in order 2 make the Congress and president believe there's no need for America to invest in its military. If you ask me, America doesn't practice this type of warfare, it is has this type of warfare conducted against it.

@StiviGun1 To underrate military capabilites is an old psychological warfare or just propaganda, to let the oppenent think their superior to others and dont invest more money and time for new and better tech.The USA does it often like the air to air missile AIM120 they give infos of the range, and it was only about 30-40 kms but the thruth comes years after that information, it was capable to reach more than 3 times the range.And this is only an example i know about.There lot of stuff underrated

@StiviGun1 just make some researches about cold war spionage. The S300 take 3 spionage US aircrafts down. They entered the russian air space and they destroyed them.During the Cold war US had more than 25000 spionage missions only in DDR. They started 1000 on soviet union, soviets destroyed few spionage "stealth" submarines.Several Spionage Aircrafts. 100 over 100 of CIA agents who tried to get on soviet territory.S300 called 300 for his range,to underrate their own capability is propaganda ...

@Talshet OK, so when exactly did the S-300 take down several American planes and what type of airplanes were? As for S-300, from what I know, it only has an engagement altitude of 30km, not nearly enough for taking down satellites. As for Patriot, it can also take down missiles. The PAC-3 version has its capabilities completely focused on anti-missile defense. The PAC-2 has also been improved a lot since the Gulf War. So Patriot's capabilities are not just against aircraft.
