@depatman well to be honest this is a very fresh project, with 20 years of contemplation and experience in web technology and UI engineering behind it ;)
The prototype h/w has already been sourced, we're fleshing out the details of the o/s and will begin on Chromium hacking within the next week.
Exciting times! :D

@depatman Yes, we're aiming at c= enthusiasts, but also the broader IT/gaming/hobbyist community. So at it's core it would be a 6510 controlled system, there is great power here as the c64 IMHO is one of the best architectures ever built for gaming, and it would control the 720Mhz/DSP/PowerVR hardware. Eventually, you'll be able to make full 3d games in BASIC! :D
The o/s and h/w are very versatile, so we will be releasing a tablet and a smartphone based on the HMD as well, eventually.

We're going with a Chromium based O/S, with a c64 architecture emulation layer on top, and an enhancement layer on top of that (256 colour interpolated palette, antialiasing/blur/filters), a BASIC variant, and the ability to code the O/S in 6510 or BASIC (we're hoping for a Blitz Basic variant now).
All on the C*HMD, previously known as the C****m***ore SV6510 ;)

I peorsonally would like a combination of old and new, and thak the best of the two worlds.
Something like a tablet windows based, with a new style OS on top of it. This way devolpment will be very fast.
