2009 Corvette ZR1 supercharged at SCCA autocross

Not only was I lucky enough to see a ZR1 at the SCCA event today but I also got to ride along with Karen on her best lap of the day. She is a GM rep and this is her company car, not bad eh? And, she's hot and can drive this car like a champ! 638hp and never even saw 2nd gear b/c it hits 65mph in 1st!!! What an awesome ride!

I've had the pleasure of driving one of these at an autocross event this past year. So much horsepower is was just awesome! Fastest car I have ever driven, and I own a 2002 Z06!

HP and ultimate grip isn't the sticking point in most auto-x events, btw. Overall handling, driveability, and driver skill are the key parts to going fast on a tight circuit such as this.

So yes, a smaller, lighter car with 1/4 the HP, but 1000lbs less weight, still has a good shot at beating the ZR1.

BTW GM, good job at giving your rep's a $100k company car. That really makes me feel good, knowing that you did that with my tax dollars.
