Trond Torsvik (PGP, UiO) gives an overview on research activities in Solid Earth group at PGP (Physics of Geological Processes), University of Oslo.

PGP is a cross-disciplinary research centre with a mission to obtain a fundamental and quantitative understanding of the Earth's complex patterns and processes. Scientists from the fields of physics, geology, and applied mathematics collaborate to carry out interdisciplinary research with a fully integrated theoretical, experimental, computer simulation and field-based approach with top level competence in all fields.

PGP reseach activities are organized into 3 main groups: Earth materials, Fluid Earth and Solid Earth.
