An semi improvised tune- I had the base melody from a previous improvisation (The first two verses are based completely on that- Then I just improvised the rest of the song.)
@VaiHoss Kurzweil PC3LE6 that is, But the price tag might be a bit high for a beginner synth. But theoretically it covers all bases, and in particular if you want to play Piano sounds it's among the best you can get for the price. (The other nice thing is that it has full VA abilities (at least I think the PC3LE6 has it as well..) so you can actually make new sounds outside of the samples. But otherwise as I said a Korg X50 is probably fine.
@VaiHoss It totally depends on your expectations, I would think the Korg X50 would do fine. (I don't have an X50 myself, but I do have a Microstation- that has the same ESD engine (The Triton has the HI engine, but personally I think they sound pretty much the same, no major difference anyway). Korg has decent sounds in both areas, But I don't think they're "awesome" in any area. If you can afford and don't mind reading the manual I would vote for the kurzweil PC6LE, if sound matters that is.
What synth would you recommend to the beginner on a budget. I'm looking for a combination of good synth and piano sounds. The Korg X50 has great piano sounds, but I'm not certain of it real synth sounds.
@VaiHoss perhaps I should add, The Venom is not capable of reproducing this sound; The best it can do would be some simple electric piano. The Venom is more about pure synth sounds- and I think it does that fairly well for it's price; It's not the best I've encountered but it has a different sound that I find interesting. (I have a few Virtual analogs to compare with too for that matter, The Korg Triton Studio with MOSS expansion, The Kurzweil PC3x and a shit load of software instruments.)
@VaiHoss Sorry to disappoint you, But I only used the Venom as a MIDI controller in this clip; The sound is generated by the AU plugin "Pianoteq Play" which is a physical modeled grand piano software instrument
Beautiful piano sounds on the venom. I don't have a venom but want one. I have been looking around otherwise because I didn't think it had piano sounds. Is that a special patch, or a preset of the venom?
