i HATE md88s, especially when u cheap out and buy tickets at the rear or the plane, and get to sit next to that lovely jet! YAY

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Md-88's seem so soft when they land is that the engines are near the tail of the aircraft causing its Center of Gravity to be in the rear of the plane. It not like all of the weight is in the middle of the aircraft.

Md88s are one of the best planes in the Delta fleet. My dad flies them for Delta, so I can personally tell you that they are extremely similiar to the 717. In fact, the 717 was originally going to be another MD, but Boeing bought them and took the plans and created the 717. It's a little shorter than an Md88, but very similiar, considering that the 717 was supposed to really be the next generation of the Md line.

But MD-88 get thrown around pretty good from turbulence. Pretty crazy.
