Original transmission would have been the Allison V730. And after watching other videos of thos bus, it sounds like it still has the V730. Nice video!

He probably could have put in a 6V71N, not sure if a 6V92TA would be appropriate in this case, but I'm sure anything can be mechanically installed.

Yeah, the engine inside now is a lot stronger than it had originally.

It doesn't sound like the fishbowls that I'm used to hear. Is that the sound of the 8v71 that I'm hearing ?

Yes, during one of it's previous careers after the STCUM, an 8v71 was installed. Maxime hasn't decided yet if he will leave it in or take it out and put a 6v71 in it's place. It rides really fast with no force, and better fuel mileage.
