Steve Spracklen plays George Cobb's, "Russian Rag"

This is "Russian Rag" by George Cobb.

Steve performed a concert of wonderful Ragtime and early 20th century music in Kansas City on 2/15/08. He is a fantastic piano player and all round performer, and entertains audiences regularly on the American Queen River Boat that cruises up and down the Mississippi River.

The poor old upright piano Steve played in this video lends an antique quality to the music he was playing.

Steve Spraklen is great!!! One of the very best ragtimers today and ever! He's been friend and pupil of "Ragtime" Bob Darch.

That's a great version of "Russian Rag", like you don't hear from anybody else today! I'm especially grateful you posted a video of a real ragtime talent! THANKS!!!

Well done! Look effortless, and great accelerando in the last part. Honky tonk piano goes great with rag style, I think is sounds more authentic played on such piano and in such room than would be on a Steinway in a large concert hall. More alive. Keep Steve;s videos coming!
