Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic 2 - Boss Run

READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE COMMENTING - PLEASE.
Hullo, what's this? Is this is last of the Major Megadrive titles that Knuckles is playable in? I think it is.

Since playing as Knuckles does change things up (Quite significantly in some cases), I've decided to record a few of the Sonic game bosses as Knuckles.

Three things to bare in mind:
a) Knuckles cannot jump as high as Sonic. This is the biggest difference as far as Boss Battles go, makes a huge difference at the final boss.
b) The primary aim in this video is to not take damage AND beat them fairly quickly. If I allowed myself to take damage, some of these times would be quicker.
c) This isn't tool assisted.

Right, now let's hopefully save people posting the same thing over and over again and answer a few questions:

Q&A:
Q: Knuckles in Sonic 2? Huh?
A: Knuckles is playable in Sonic 2 via two methods, either with the Sonic and Knuckles Lock On, which a quick Wikipedia search will answer, or as a unlockable on Sonic Mega Collection.

Q: All Chaos Emeralds in Emerald Hill?!
A: Easy with this version of the game. You get to keep your rings when you leave the Special Zone. There are 8 star posts in Emerald Hill, more than enough to unlock Super Knuckles.
Sonic/Tails can also do this, but they lose their rings upon leaving the Special Zone, so it takes longer.

Q: It took you six minutes to beat Emerald Hill?
A: Getting. All. Chaos. Emeralds. Takes. Time. It's not hard to understand is it?

Q: Lol u tok damng aganst tat enemy.
A: That was intentional, to avoid me becoming Super Knuckles.

Q: You can become Super Knuckles in this game?!
A: Yes. Unlocked just like Super Sonic.

Q: Why not use Super Knuckles if you've unlocked him?
A: That would defeat the purpose of the video. And to be fair - I do use Super Knuckles, in the stages. For shits and giggles.

Q: What's with the crappy boss names?
A: They're Sega's names, not mine. They're taken from the Japanese manual, for the most part.

Q: What happened at the Casino Night boss?
A: I got too many rings, and there were three rings blocking my way, taking my ring total over 50. As a result I had to wait for Super Knuckles to run out. I also had to wait in Chemical Plant as well.

Q: In fact, why were you so high up the wall at the start of that boss?
A: I couldn't remember the exact pixel the boss came out the wall, alright? :P

Q: Was this tool assisted?
A: No. Sonic 2 was one of the first games I ever owned, you'd think I would be good at the game by now.

Q: How'd you kill the final boss so quickly?
A: Practice. It took a lot of practice to get the timing down.
It took practice to figure out when I could hit him. It's possible to beat him quicker, if you can somehow land 3 hits whilst he's walking at the start.

Q: Isn't that, really risky?
A: Yes. Yes it is. The majority of the final boss is lethal (including the flame on the back of his Jet Pack.. but not the Jet Pack itself.)

Q: How long did this take?
A: Not very. Remember kiddies - I've played this game for a long time, most of this is "first recording attempt" footage.
Mistakes were kept in to show it's a human playing and not a tool.

Q: Where's the credits?
A: Youtube has a 10:59 time limit on videos. I had to remove them.

Q: ... why use Sonic Adventure artwork?
A: Why not? Have you seen the first batch of official Sonic artwork? For most part it's horrible.

Q: FUUU... NO YOU FOOL, SILVER SONIC/EGG EMPEROR'S NAME IS... WRRROOOO....
A: NO. No. They aren't wrong. They're just alternate names. Silver Sonic is also known as Mecha Sonic in Japan.(Actually, each of the Sonic Robots in Japan is called Mecha Sonic.)
Egg Emperor is called Death Egg over there, (yes really), and it's known as the Egg Terminator over here in the UK. In the US, the name goes by either Mecha Robotnik, Egg Walker, or of course, Egg Emperor.
To remain consistent with the series in general though, I went with the Sonic Heroes name. They're the same type of Robot, but the SH one is a upgrade.

A lot of people talk s**t that Sonic Genesis boss fights are all very easy to beat, but if you know the tips and tricks here, of course it's going to seem easy.

I'm not entirely sure what game people are playing, but several of these fights were anything but easy.

I really don't see how people are complaining that the final boss is easy - because clearly these people do not remember the first 100 times they fought it. :P

@Dragonnus22 The UK comics gave the explaination that the animals served as Organic Batteries for the Robots. I've always gone with that version.

I assume the capsules at the end of stages were creatures he was GOING to transfer into Badniks but didn't get chance to due to a Blue Spikey Critter showing up.

I think this is a case of "It's there in the manual."

I don´t get it. I use the spindash on silver sonic, but as soon as he lands, i die. I think the spindash is cheating.

@ThePinheirinhoful That's probably because you're standing in the wrong place. You cannot stand directly underneath him, you have to stand to the side of him slightly. Too far to the right, you'll die, too far to the left you won't hit him. It's about knowing where to stand.

It's not cheating. It's practice.

@ACESpark when I was very little I never got to the final boss but when I finally got to it i was 10 and it only took me 3 tries

kaws fun facts- the game was originally designed with knuckles in mind, but like sonic 3(which was also designed with knuckles in mind) the cartridge just couldnt handle it(and i still wonder why? does knuckles design somehow too heavy or somat?). and the lock on had to be invented to boost the proccessing power of the 2 games to allow it. it was a unique and inventive solution at the time.
