  • I think Reich's 'Clapping Music' is a great entry into phase music and a highly playful piece. Also, it's supposed to be a ruse that a piece meant to be played with one of the simplest forms of musical/rhythmic expression (clapping) is played with custom made speaker gloves running software on a capacitive touch screen portable computer. Also, in cased you missed the playful nature of the piece, we make it clear that we're enjoying the piece at 3:45.

  • @MsGreenthings I do think this art, so what the bloody hell is wrong with you ? It's a waste of lifetime telling people which music they should listen to. Steve Reich is as much as an artist as Mozart was. I'd love to watch you trying to cope with one of these rhythms. whole Africa's against you. :)

  • Who says white people don't have rhythm?

  • Nooooooooo people, don't be so damned ignorant! Clapping music is the forefather of most house, club, techno, electronic music. It defines a crucial moment in the development of art music in the direction of appreciable, accessible musical genres. Not only that, but it highlights incredible discoveries in psycho-acoustics and the human brain's perception of rhythm and separable, discernible sounds. Jeez, just read up on something before you start bashing and raving!

  • What is next, farting out melodies? Total shit, excuse the pun.

  • @bluerockfairy Bach would wipe his ass with this. And anything else not completely glorious and aspiring to God.

  • Don't you find negative comments on youtube more a waste of a lifetime?

  • We can't compare him with Mozart, but for couterpointing skills, Bach would be proud of him

  • haha... I'm ready to try. :)

  • Do you really think this is art? Listen to some music like Mozart. This is more a waste of lifetime.
