UPDATE: http://exm.nr/bwcJQf Raw Photos: http://s750.photobucket.com/albums/xx150/SOSFLorida/Oil%20coverup/

John Wathen of Save Our Gulf, an ad hoc committee of the Waterkeeper Alliance, narrates a series of pictures he took on Orange Beach, AL. It clearly shows heavy machinery moving sand from a large pile on the beach to cover up a large area of contaminated shoreline. At the beginning, you will see the low area of beach that is filled with dispersed oil and tar balls. By the end, the beach looks pristine, as if no oil had ever been there. But now we know, it's just buried a few inches below.

Just yesterday the Coast Guard made a press release claiming that no sand is being dumped over oil on any beach... but here they are watching it happen.

We demand to know just what is going on here.

  • From someone who was actually down there working I would like to address a few points. First the reason the majority of heavy equipment ops took place at night was to avoid the 1000's of folks on the beach during the day. Next what is not shown in the "still" photographs are the beach combing equipment that had been through that area prior to the bulldozers and bucket loaders. Also note the areas in which the sand appears to be lower is more then likely due to heavy weather and erosion.

  • BS charges need to be brought up

  • This video is over a month old, do you know if this is still going on ?? would like to very much know the truth.

  • I saw the exact same thing i have been in Gulf Shores, AL for the past two weeks and now their are tractors that are pulling plows just rolling over the sand and it makes me really want to yell hey thats NOT Cleaning.

  • The problem is that if they cover-up the oil by building their "berms", the next day the people will think the beach is clean and let their children bath there (watch?v=M_INFOy8PoA).

Keeping in mind some new test results (eg. watch?v=1oV2n37lJds & watch?v=Gq65E7rmO_k) and experiences from the Exxon-Valdez-disaster (eg. Dr. Riki Ott and many more first-hand witnesses testified what happened to the workers there) this could be very DANGEROUS.

  • @carolyndoughty Sounds more than reasonable that they are doing as you said. Don't think that this is evidence of any sort of foul play. However it makes you wonder if they would sweep anything under the rug Probably they're doing it 200 miles off the coast, but not on the coast.

  • That they do it in the darkness says it all - no matter what the beach is called and what they pretend to do it for.

  • WWOW very important video!

    They hide the oil

under the sand at the beach

and in the water they hide it

    with Corexit under the surface

    in giant deadly toxic clouds.

And BP, the other corporations and the administration work together in it.

@carolyndaughty: Yes, and at the same time they make the beaches look treacherously clean and safe, which is their main intent and has lead some to even allow their children bath there.

  • Thanks for posting. Citizens must act because NO ONE else is.

  • thx, guys
