After contact with prey Drosera glanduligera moves its glue-tentacles within approximately two minutes to fix prey to to the centre of the lamina. That is really fast for a Drosera. Our time lapse video shows the effectiveness of this movement. Part 3 will soon follow and show the sensational movement of its snaptentacles in real time.

  • *?

  • @dionea97 Sorry for the delay, we are working hard on our new HD-film on Sarracenia. Yes, these glue-tentacles are shown in time-lapse, but the marginal glue-less tentacles (see next film D. glanduligera snap-tentacles) are moving as fast as the Venus Flytrap in 0.1-0.2 seconds realtime.

  • AWESOME. What camera are you using?

  • @silenceisgod The macros have been shot with an old Canon MV20 (bought in 1999) equipped with a "Liquid crystal" macro lens. The other filming has been done with a semiprofessional SONY camcorder. Meanwhile we use a professional SONY HVR-Z5E HDV camera.
