I have played on my Flute the famous old Barsaat Song "Chhod Gaye Baalam". This song was composed by Greatest MD Shankar-Jaikishen based on Raga Bhairavi. In fact, in the Film Barsaat, most of the songs were based upon Raga Bhairavi. Raga Bhairavi was the most favorite Raga of the duo. Originally, this sad number was sung as a DUET by Lata and Mukesh. In fact, Raj Kapoor-Nargis pair is considered to be the most Romantic Pair ever both on celluloid as well as in Real Life. Barsaat was the first Film for MD Shankar-Jaikishen, Music of Barsaat braught super success to Shankar-Jaikishen and lifted both Shankar-Jaikishen right to the Top in their first Film. What a Great Feat !which is not achieved by any other music director todate. Shankar-Jaikishen loved Raga Bhairavi so much that most of their future very famous songs were based on Raga Bhairavi for example the songs "Mera Joota Hai Jaapani" and "Awaara Hoon". Raga Bhairavi braught them total success so much so that Jaikishen named his daughter with name "Bhairavi" who is now a famous fashion designer in Mumbai. That romantic chemistry of Nargis-Raj Kapoor started out from the Film : Barsaat onwards and ended in 1956 after the pair acted for the last time for the RK Film "Jaagte Raho" where Nargis was given a short but poingnant and very effective role in the ending scene which we all remember very well. At the end of this Flute Tune, I have purposely played a short mukhda of the Title Song "Barsaat Me Ham Se Mile Tum" which is also based on Raga Bhairavi of coursee and in the very end of my Flute Tune I have played few notes of Raga Bhairavi for few seconds.Since this is an EMOTIONAL Song, I have played it with Great Emotions. I hope you will like my Flute performance. Please place your valuable comment.
Thanks and Regards,
Dr. Kamath

Great bhai. Ap k pas to tabla coverage bhi hai. Thats good. U r really good at playing flute. As ur transections are really smooth while going from low to hih notes. Its really difficult when done on the transverse flutes. Play some more tunes.
