Turquoise. Aquamarine. Bluegreen. However called, the waters of Havasu Creek are spectacular. They owe their color to the underground journey from the Rocky Mountains, which enriches them with minerals. Purely white limestone precipitates out of the water in the creek, reflecting the sky and giving these crystal clear waters their hue. The contrast of rusty red rocks, lush green cottonwoods and blue-green waters makes the Havasu Canyon uniquely beautiful, even in this already awesome region. This is our account of the magic.

Veeery cool video. Planning to go there in May. I had a couple of questions about the hike...1) Does the village sell food and drinks? 2) How far is Mooney falls from havasu falls?

Yes they have simple food and drinks at the store in the village. Mooney falls are maybe 10 mins walking from Havasu. Enjoy.

hey guys Not sure what month you hiked down to the Village. Was it hard to secure your camping permits.?
The Camping permit office is not very easy to make contact with.

Keep on trying the office. They are open intermittently. There are several numbers to try. You absolutely need permits to go to the campsite. It would be bad if you find out they are sold out after you hike all the way down. It took me a week of tryng to get through, but I eventually did.

Thanks for this awesome video!
In 2006 we were trekking there too, it was very hot weather there but we enjoyed. I think we had to walk 16 miles from the parking lot to the Falls. We spent 1 night down there and next day went back to our cars.
Best wishes

Oh wow, thanks very much for the info. Do you mean like potatoe chips? Or can you get a decent, filling meal there? Also, is the village fairly close to the falls?
