On July 14 NATO started a series of air defense exercises BRTE III, organized by Allied Air Component Command Headquarters Rammstein and involving the collaboration of Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Czech and U.S. forces. The two-day drills are focused on improving air interoperability and developing NATO air forces' capabilities in defending the air space over the Baltic States. The exercises involved a U.S. C-130 Hercules military transport plane. After landing at Tallinns airport, the crew fielded questions from Estonian media about the exercise and plane, and provided a tour for all involved.
