Despite the name, the role is not a clerical or secretarial one in the usual sense. The company secretary ensures that an organisation complies with relevant legislation and regulation, and keeps board members informed of their legal responsibilities

Caroline from CSS, explains the activities of a company secretary.

  • I wonder why it took me so long to find out about this career? I think it is the title, 'company secretary' makes you think of admin person. I am glad I found out about this as it is the most interested career option that I have found out about. It beats being a lawyer and puts you at the top of decision making. Maybe a name change would be good. Something more professional sounding.
