@whitegryphon I NEVER found this scary. When I was younger, I'd ask my parents "Why is that guy laughing?"
In more recent years I've laughed along with the guy laughing.

That chord is an F minor 9 played on a Fender Rhodes electric piano. During the 1980s, it was the universal signal for "time for the kids to go to bed".
