anime is just the japanese way of saying animation or animated its just a short for . animated cartoon. just like manga is the same as saying comic. there is no reason to correct someone when they call this an animated cartoon cause thats what it is. no need to use japanese slang when we are all speaking english here. (nothing wrong with it though, calling it anime does help people tellt he difference between shows made in north america and shows made in japan.
