I'm just curious but was there ever a hint in the series about Gaara liking Hinata? Or was it a random idea by everybody?

That face she made at 1:14 makes me think of what Naruto said to her,

'I thought you were sort of a weirdo...dark, plain, and timid.' If she were dark she would have been paired up with Gaara the moment he was introduced into the series.
