This piece won first prize in the Pikes Peak Young Composers Competition in Anna's age division. It is a suite of three movements in ternary form. The venue for this concert was awesome, with a great audience, and beautiful and inspiring surroundings. The organizers couldn't have done a better job. It was fun meeting so many other great composers at the winners recital.

  • Hi Anna! I'm really happy to hear your new sonata too. I was wondering how Echoes could have won only second prize. Now I know the reason. You've literally outdone yourself this time. Way to go!

  • This is an interesting competition, because the judging is blind (no names - just a number- on the score) and you can submit as many entries as you want. Therefore, it's theoretically possible to sweep every award in every category. Anna entered 3 pieces, and each of them got an award. We were really surprised by the result!

  • It's getting useless, Dear Anna, to repeat how well you play the piano: we all know that!

I prefer to congratulate you on your musical progress and the intelligence with which you express the music's moods and feelings......

  • Thanks for the extremely nice comment!

  • Great composition! If I didn't know who it was, I would have guessed it was a genuine Mozart or Beethoven! Congrats--milo
