I am afraid to do this shit again on a laptop and Apple refuses to touch anything 3rd party yet they want to rape you if you buy the RAM from them. Crucial RAM for this model is 50 bucks. Apple wants 400. Fuck you Apple.

i dont get the point in upgrading ram on a mac book 4 gigs is like having a pc with 8 gigs due to the extreme efficiency of osx id say 6gigs is probably the most you will ever need from a mac b4 the physical hardware becomes completely obsolete.

@beiberboy1 LMAOOOOOOOOO *ahem* Are you serious? :/

my mac literally set on fire after doing this stupid proccess........:|

Done RAM changes quite a few times (Though this is an old video soi'm sure you have by now too :P). Just to say - Make sure you take the battery out too. Power will still be going through so you can shock yourself and the ram and kinda mess it up before even starting (Done that once... heh. woops).
Still - Nicely done :P

Very handy. Thanks a lot.

Aren't you Scottish, by any chance? :-)

@TheMRamstaff I agree 100%......also you should have pulled the battery out before you installed the ram. just in case.
For me I only use corsair and Western Digital and Logitech.

i was just wondering how much of a difference could you tell once you upgraded to the 4gb of ram?
If I installed the ram myself on my new macbook would that void my applecare warranty?

I would keep the RAM aside (the one which you take out your macbook) - just incase if you ever need to take it into the apple store, you can always shove it in if need be. But yeah, it wont void your warranty.
