  • yes, he IS a legend!

  • it starts as improvisation and by playing again and again transforms into a complete song...as far as I know. and I've never seen a gipsy using or having note sheets... ;-)

  • well, it's rare to see him playing these days...he became very fragile...at least in 2007 and I hope, he'll be better this year. but regarding his age we must be happy that he is still with us...

  • I saw this genius at the Royal Festival Hall in the late 1970's.After his concert,I went backstage and not only did he sign my programme,he invited me into his dressing room. What I will never forget is that he made ME feel as if I were the star rather than himself. He introduced me to his sons as if I were a close friend and we all had a coffee together.A wonderful warm human being with a great talent.People do not come nicer than this man and also do not play the guitar better either! A legend.

  • I saw him twice at the Lincoln Philharmonic in NY, late 70's and then again in the 80's. He is my favorite Flamenco guitarists and one of my favorite of all guitarists. The second time I saw him I ran up to the stage at the end of the concert because he was shaking people's hands. He shook everyone else's hand and started to leave and noticed I was still there and he came back and shook mine. Your story of how he treated you is beautiful and rings true to me. Brilliant musician and human being.
