  • PhD = pretty horrible deal

I got a PhD in Biochemistry and published 6 papers during my PhD and still no decent job, so guess what, I went to med school and had to postpone my life another 10 years.

Please tell the world to avoid higher education in the form of PhDs or Master's - it is actually dangerous for your future - for example I have to consider staying childless since I have no time with med school and being older I get tired more easily. Again please do not do a PhD

  • Yes, sometimes it takes that long (10 years) to write a thesis and defend it. Especially, if your faculty is not interested in helping you succeed. The few graduate students that I know are in lab from 7am to 7pm everyday of the week doing research.

  • TEN years? Two years for a masters and four years for a PhD is a total of six years, if it takes you ten years and you're a full time student teaching there are no excuses for not graduating. I get it if you're working off campus and are a part-time student, but if you're on campus that's just sad

  • Have you ever seen such self-indulgent intellectualism? EVER? Bless their little hearts. Ten years (or more) in grad school, indeed.

  • teaching is a low wage sc*mbag career......
