As the eurozone prepares to release its latest economic data, including unemployment figures, the worried leaders of France and Italy are to meet in Paris to discuss the continent's growing debt crisis.
Mario Monti, the Italian prime minister who has now been in office for two months, will try to convince Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president, that his country's $30bn austerity package is on track.
