Dom Flemons, of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, and Scott Miller, 2004 World Bones Champion, jam together for the first time, at their first in-person meeting. Banjo accompaniment is by Rhiannon Giddens, also of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, who is playing a minstrel medley of "Briggs' Corn Shucking Jig" and "Briggs' Breakdown," both from the "Briggs' Banjo Instructor," published in 1855. This number is completely unrehearsed. It's also the only preparation they did for a stage performance an hour later during a CCD concert. Recorded in the greenroom of the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis, Oct. 20, 2010. Video of the stage performance that followed is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7umssbfrSPY
@lcsgze It is kind of hard for clog dancers to keep their feet still when a banjo breaks into a tune like "Briggs' Breakdown," especially the way Rhiannon does with so much style and energy. And that is what is going on here. Dom and I just couldn't help but break into a few clog dance steps (aka buck dance, jig dance, buck & wing, flat footing) - and yes, just for fun we also scooted up & back a little bit.

Really enjoyable and smart at the same time.
At one point Dom is doing dance steps that might be a specific dance but might also be just moving around. Anybody know the dance?

The mirror in the background is cool. Would like the mirror even better if it didn't reflect my bald spot!
