Hi I'm Jody Smith Owner/ Artisan of Overlay Solutions, LLC located in Summerville, SC. This is a makeover completed on a block wall in the beautiful mountains of Hendersonville, NC. This was a fun project to complete and it totally changed the look of the residence. I want to give special thanks to Nathan Giffin of www.creativerockforming.com and www.verticalartisans.com for his support and advice on this project.   • i don't get it... how do you have so much time to complete this? is this some kind of slow setting mix? after the scratch coat. you did all sections and you still had time to sculpt blocks in the 1st section. how?

  • It's Magic, no it's a process that you do and you have to know your time limit. I had to work very hard and fast getting it up and then the fun begins.The mixes that I mix do have some delay compared to regular concrete. Thanks for watching!

    Looks good first time I ever saw a video of start to finish. Going to start experimenting this winter. I would like to expand, I have most of the tools so why not......Good job

    using portland or Masonry cement for your base ingredient cures much slower than standard concrete especially after including admixtures which help to control evaporation. Your fine aggregate can also play a role in set time.

  • hi jody, its the wonder of youtube that on the other end of the world (in pakistan), i'm about the experiment one of your solutions but here we didnot have right tools, so i guess its going to be a hard work... thanks any way, will try to upload the result on you tube...... wish me good luck

  • What did you spray the metal mesh with?

    IS that cement mortar mix or something different?

    How come it doesnt fall off?

    How come you did the cement in 2 layers?
