I was able to get Chrome OS up and sort of running. What you'll see here is a very early look at Google's new operating system. While it's not functional, you can get a sense of look and feel.

  • Correction: Google Chromium is the name for googles alpha versions of chrome, chrome os. For a while they only had a the beta of chromium for mac, so it was chromim

  • @RichL123 or on headphones If you have on

  • so if the servers down ur fucked? or if theres a virus on the server

  • that OS is ugly as fuck

  • AWESOME! when chrome is released, one crash of google servers means destruction of our files! how fun is that! thumbs upppppp!

  • will this make the battery life better....?

  • @firelily Agree with you. I prefer Fx too.

    1. No doubt, it can) cause it's linux-based OS and it works with filesystems and plays media files very well)

    2. Search for it in Google :) and you will find over 9000 articles and videos about chrome OS)

    3. You still can log on w\o internet connection :) but web-applications will not work, of course.

  • @pleshrd Definitely not in this "preliminary" stages but don't disregard this idea completely! Technology changes so rapidly. For instance, I LOVE my Firefox! I didn't like Chrome because it didn't have all the "add-ons" like Ad-block and Flash-block, web developer tool etc... Now that it does have "extensions" (Some which increased my productivity tremendously!), I really enjoy Google Chrome browser. It just makes me sad that I won't be using Firefox much more.

  • I have three questions:

    1. I am wondering how it can play/store music and video files.

    2. Is there a video/explanation that go into better depth about those applications?

    3. If you don't have internet connection--how can you still log in?

    Thanks!!!

  • @pleshrd

okay thanks. this is common in open source operating systems.
