NCC member companies include chicken producer/processors, poultry distributors, and allied industry firms. The producer/processors account for approximately 95 percent of the chickens produced in the United States.

i wouldn't say that the conditions they're grown in have gotten better over the past 30 yrs. their conditions benefit her, not the chicken. she's taken away their natural needs to nest, roost, etc.

litter conditions are great, they have feed, they dont have to look for bugs, they have clean water, they dont have to drink out of a mudpuddle. they have heat, they dont have to huddle together to stay warm, they do not have to worry about predatory animals that will eat them, as they are protected in the barn, they have fresh air with fans that kick on to bring fresh air in the barns. the barns stay cool in the summer with the tunnel systems, i would say the growing conditions are great.
