World music concert in a beautiful, natural setting at the breathtaking
Happehatchee Center, a beautiful "old" Florida landscape,
in a serene Southwest Florida oasis.
Emmy Award-winning, and Grammy-nominated composer and flutist, Kat Epple, has traveled throughout the world, collecting flutes from other cultures and will be performing on some of those unique instruments at this concert. She has performed at the Guggenheim Museums, United Nations, and the National Gallery, has released 23 CDs of original music, and composes and produces music for television, including "National Geographic" and "PBS Nova".
Nathan Dyke is a multi-instrumentalist and artist with over 17 years of study in world music, specializing in percussion, didgeridoo, and native flutes. He teaches drumming workshops, has recorded numerous CDs of original music, and practices energy-sound healing. Nathan resides in the mountains of North Carolina where he is a member of the renowned, world fusion band Pond Water Experiment, and travels frequently, performing live, and facilitating sound healing workshops. He has been practicing and studying Native culture and ceremony for over eight years, and helps to facilitate the Inipi Wakan (Lakota Sweat Lodge).
Happehatchee, an indigenous word that means "Happy River", is a place to make sacred connections - with people, nature and the divine. It is a sacred space for people to gather, celebrate, learn, heal and grow.
