Before the jousts, the knights of Four Winds demonstrated their skill and prowess with several "games," among them throwing a spear from horseback and "taking the Saracens' Head" (i.e. impaling a head of cabbage with a sword). These were serious games for the knights, as points were scored and totaled as part of the Four Winds Jousting Tournament which climaxes in June every year.
