Although I don't understand the German ( & my high school German was a waste of time), the passion comes across none the less. Mayer's tone is sooo yummy, so inspired! Imagine that someone can bring something "new" to these pieces which we are all familiar with. Ah swete genius...

To answer a couple of questions about this, yes he is playing an Oboe D'Amore, its a different instrument. Even expensive oboes have a straight reed, its the lower members of the family that have a different shape. As for his ivory headed oboe, its a viennese styled oboe as far as i know, it gives a different sound to a normal french style
