I am a singer, and I cover voices.

Steve Perry created the sound and everyone else is covering it. I can cover Steve Perry's voice too, it doesn't make me a great original singer though, and I haven't gotten rich from it. So it is better to have your own style.

If they sang in their own style, none of the singers would sound like Steve Perry, it's just vocal impersonation. They all did a good job at that.

The new singer simply attempts to copy Perry

Perry created the songs with his tone and phrasing

Journey has no songs or hits that are memorable since Perry's exit

The songs recorded with the new singers demonstrate that Perry created the success and made those songs famous

That Revelation cd by Journey is mediocre at best and the remakes of Perry's songs he created are atrocious and

a desperate move for money by Schon

@dvddjscottymack exactly. I like Kiss, Peter Criss is their original drummer. Is Eric Carr a better drummer? Maybe but Criss did it first. I appreciate both.

Journey was also a great band (instrumental) with Steve or without him. The songs and the instrumentals still hold up. Arnel does a great job and I hope he gets RICH.

of course nobody can replace steve perry, but all these singers are amazing. i dont think deen castronovo gets enough credit, and this definitely doesnt give him justice.
